Holds a degree in History (University of Porto, 1980) and a Master's degree in Administration and Planning of Education, a thesis on History of Design Teaching in Portugal in the 19th century (Portucalense University, 1999), PhD student in History at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. Since 1984, Professor at the Superior School of Art of Porto, he has taught the subjects of History of Art, Cultural History and Mentalities, History of Art in Portugal I, Portrait, and currently History of Art I, History of Architecture and Urbanism I and II, Theory and History of Design, History of Theatre and History of Modernand ContemporaryArt in Portugal. Academic Director of ESAP (1991 to 1997) and President of the Pedagogical Council (2005-2006). Member of ESAP's Scientific Council until 2010. Chairman of the Fiscal Council of CESAP (2009-2015). Member of the IJI (Interdisciplinary Juridical Institute of the Faculty of Law of Porto) since 2003, member of the ESAP Office for the Promotion of Quality (since 2018). His research has been multidisciplinary although particularly focused on the teaching of drawing in Portugal.

Attending the PhD in Art and Design at FBAUP and Master in Image Design and Licentiate in Communication Design at FBAUP. He has been working as a graphic designer since 2003. He is co-founder of the design office - GSA Design, specializing in the development of visual identities as well as in editorial in the area of cultural production, among others. He has been a senior designer at the Serralves Foundation since 2004. From his teaching experience, ESAP has been teaching since 2010 and ESAD in Matosinhos where he has been teaching since 2009. Since 2010 he has co-hosted ESAP's "Plug and Play" design conferences . His work has already been selected for the Trnava Poster Triennial (2003), International Museum Communication Awards (2007) and winner of the Best Design Prize for Art and Photography Prize edition Read / Booktailors with the book "Berlin - Critical Reconstruction" ( 2009).

Degree in Communication Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and Master of Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon. Attends currently the PhD and Information and Communication in Digital Platforms in a consortium between the University of Aveiro and the University of Porto. He has taught in polytechnic and university higher education since 2009 in curricular units of Graphic Design, Web Design and Multimedia, Audiovisual Design, 2D Animation, 3D Modeling and Animation, Drawing, Illustration at both undergraduate and masters level. Designer, graduated from the School of Art and Design since 1996, with work developed essentially in the area of communication. Master in Multimedia in Education from the University of Aveiro since 2007. She is developing her PhD in Design at the University of Aveiro, where she is a collaborator of the ID + Institute of Research, Design, Media and Culture. His research work is part of the Strategic Design for Sustainability Research Line. He has been teaching at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP) since 2001, where he is currently a member of the Multimedia Design and Communication Course. He was President of the Pedagogical Council and integrated some working groups of curricular organization.
