The bachelor degree in Communication Design presents a curricular plan focused on the areas of graphic design and multimedia design, including, however, the areas of audiovisual and photography. The bachelor's degree goals are to work on content, the "tools" and fundamental knowledge leading to the acquisition of skills, in order to analyze, reflect and conceive products, works and contents of graphic design and multimedia design.
Due to the broad nature of its study plan, the multiplicity of professional exits is favored in accordance with the acquired learning. The internship integrated in the bachelor degree boosts the contact with the professional environment.

Bachelor and Master in History of Art by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. Doctorate in Architecture (Program Problems of Architecture and modern city: theory, history, projects) by ETSA of the University of Valladolid. She has been a professor at ESAP since 1986. She is Coordinator of the Autonomous Section of Theory and History and Vice-President of the Scientific Council of ESAP. He has been developing research in the field of Theory and History of Architecture and History of Photography, and it is worth mentioning the participation in two completed FCT projects: Photography, Modern Architecture and the "Oporto School": Interpretations around the Teófilo Rego Archive (2013-2015) as responsible researcher, and Modernismos do Sul (2014-2015), as a member of the research team.

Anselmo Canha. Degree in Communication Design - Graphic Art (University of Porto, 1984). Master in Image Design (University of Porto, 2008), PhD in Design (University of Porto, 2018). As a researcher, he is dedicated to the relationships between independent contexts of creation - namely non-professional and experimental - and social transformation. In his master dissertation he studied the Stop Shopping Center. His PhD thesis elected a community radio - Radio Manobras - as the center of a constellation of cases in the city of Porto. He co-coordinated “Manobras no Porto”, a project dedicated to think and act through creative action in the Historic Center of Porto. He has been a professional designer since 1984, having developed work mainly in the editorial, corporate identity and signage fields, the latter being his current professional specialization.

Bachelor of Fine Arts / Painting by FBAUP (1981). PhD from the University of Vigo (Department of Sculpture, 2014), with the thesis "Art and Memory: Developments and derivations about the concept of memory and its contribution to artistic practice". He was a Fellow of the Foundation for Science and Technology (2009-2012). Since 1982, he has been teaching at ESAP's Higher Arts Courses, of which he was one of the founders, having held various positions. As a plastic artist, he began exhibiting in 1978: he held 5 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 150 collectives, in Portugal and abroad, being represented in some public and private collections. Between 1976 and 1981 he worked in Animation Cinema, including two films subsidized by the Portuguese Cinema Institute, produced by Cinematógrafo - collective of intervention, of which he was one of the founders. In 2015 Trindade re-started working in cinema, having produced two short films which were shown in some international film festivals.

Joana Baptista Costa is a graphic designer and researcher. PhD in Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (2019) and graduated from the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha (2006). She is a researcher at the Institute for Research in Art Design and Society (I2ADS). She is interested in research and curatorship, studies in design, archive, graphic heritage and material culture, production processes and editing modes. She develops research in the domains of theory and criticism of graphic design in Portugal. His doctorate 'Discourses of graphic design in its emergence in Portugal (1960-2000)' proposes a historiography of graphic design based on discourses. As a designer, she encourages the intersection of processes and methodologies between design and research. She is co-founder of the Joana & Mariana Graphic Design Studio, in which she develops visual identity, editorial and exhibition design projects for various entities.

He is co-founder of the design office - GSA Design, specializing in the development of visual identities as well as in editorial in the area of cultural production, among others. Eduarda Neves is a professor of contemporary art theory and criticism, an area in which she has published various articles and books. She is also an independent curator. Her research and curatorial activity interweaves the fields of art, philosophy and politics. Since February 2019 she has collaborated on the journal “Contemporânea”. Her most recent books are: O Auto-retrato. Fotografia e Subjectivação. Lisboa: Ed. Palimpsesto | Ceaa, 2016 [shortlisted for the Pen Club award in the category of Essay, 2017] and in 2020, Nem-Isto-Nem-Aquilo. In 2021, 35 Degrees Celsius. Essays on contemporary art, from the same publisher. She is preparing publication of her next book Bestiaries. NR graduated in Sculpture at FBAUP/School of Fine Arts, University of Porto (1999), and holds an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute (2008). In 2011 he began a PhD research in Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and completed it at FBAUP/School of Fine Arts, University of Porto. Since 1999 he has been developing his work in the field of visual arts, individually and in collaboration with other artists, in areas such as drawing, installation, sculpture, performance, sound, video and curatorial practices. He has held 17 solo exhibitions, 5 of which in collaboration with fellow artists, and participated in over 60 group shows in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, USA, Norway, UK, Russia and Germany. He was the curator of 7 exhibitions, and since 2016 he is the programmer of the Portuguese video art and moving image screening project Playlist, held in Porto, with 42 shows produced and presented so far. Together with Isabel Ribeiro and Susana Chiocca, he was responsible for the Recursos Humanos / Human Resources programme, a series of talks dedicated to the public presentation and discussion of works and creation processes by artists, architects, designers and others. His work is represented in institutional collections such as CAV - Centro de Artes Visuais and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as in several private collections. In 2002 he was resident artist at Triangle France, Marseille, and in 2004 he was one of the nominees for the EDP Young Artists award in Portugal. Between 2006 and 2008 he was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, and the Louise Woods Memorial scholarship. He was also awarded a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Research grant between 2011 and 2015. From 2000 to 2005 he collaborated with the education program of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. He was teaching assistant in the New Genres course at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2007, and in 2011 began teaching at the BFA in Photography program, ESAP - Porto Art School, where he leads a seminar on Portuguese video art since 2017. He lives and works in Porto and is represented by Graça Brandão gallery, Lisbon.
