Doctorate in cinema, it is in this area that he divides his activity of teaching, research, authorship and production.
Author of the book "Cinema sem Actores", he has headed the scientific conference AVANCA | CINEMA since 2010 and coordinates the "Engº Prize. Fernando Gonçalves Lavrador ", annually attributed to the best international investigation in the field of cinema.
As a director and producer, he has been honored with more than three hundred awards at festivals on five continents. He is the producer of the most awarded Portuguese film ever.
He produced and co-directed the first feature film of the Portuguese animated film "To the Top of the World", a distinguished work in the USA and Canada.
He has been directing the AVANCA film festival since 1997, but also the "Cine-Clube de Avanca", the "Portuguese Federation of  Film Societies" and integrates the directorates of the "Portuguese Cinema Academy", "APCA - Cinema and Audiovisual Producers Association" , among other entities of the sector.
He is the national coordinator of "INPUT-TV", an international conference that annually brings together public televisions from around the world on different continents.
It develops continuous activity in cultural programming and artistic creation.

Born in Figueira da Foz, 1977. He holds a degree in Communication and Public Relations and a postgraduate degree in Communication and Journalism from the Faculty of Letters, Coimbra University. He was an image reporter for SIC Television from 2001 until 2012, having been one of the main reporters for the Great Report. He made his debut in the documentary "Ainda há pastores?" (2006) with which he won more than a dozen national and international awards. The documentary was one of the most viewed and sold in Portugal. "Pare, Escute, Olhe" (2009), about the deactivation of the Tua railway line, was another equally awarded documentary. In 2012 Jorge Pelicano was one of the creators and director of the documentary series "Momentos de Mudança", a program that broke the traditional format of television journalism through the introduction of the concept of film journalism. He is also one of the authors of the book "Câmara de reflexão – Uma imagem, mil palavras" published by Plátano Editora in 2010. Since February 2013 he has been working as documentary filmmaker for the upcoming film producer “Até ao Fim do Mundo”. "Pára-me de repente o pensamento" was honored with the Sophia Prize of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema, as Best Documentary Feature Film. It was also the best documentary at the Odemira Film Festival, Signes Prize at the International Festival Signes de Nuit | Paris, and Grand Prix, Audience Award and Best Director on the Caminhos do Cinema Português | Coimbra 2014. In this festival, in 2018 was equally awarded, but now with the movie "Até que o Porno nos Separe".

Professor of cinema and audiovisuals in the Master of Production and Realization of ESMAD, and in the degrees of CAV, ESAP, and TCAV of ESMAD / IPP. Holds a Bachelor in Film and Video from ESAP; Master in Production and Production, by IPP / ESMAE; and has the title of Specialist in Media and Audiovisual Production, obtained in the IPP.

A filmmaker and filmmaker, he has won more than a dozen awards at national and international film festivals, whether in cinematographic or fiction short films, his last two films having premiered at Fantasporto in 2011 (A Parideira ) and in 2012 (System Failure). As a director (and screenwriter), he prepares a new fiction project titled "Dirty Carnival", scheduled to debut on April of 2019.

M. F. Costa e Silva. Bachelor in Cine-Vídeo (ESAP, 1984) and Graduated in Multimedia Educational Communication (Polytechnic of Santarém, 1992). He has taught at ESAP since 1988. He was Academic Director and coordinator of the Cinema and Audiovisual Course at ESAP; is a film director, having written and performed the following films: "The Return of the Man Who Did not Like to Leave Home" (1996), "The First Time" (2002), "A Time Reencontrado" (2004), "Panoias "(2007)," 1111 "(2012) and" Dying of Love "(2016). He represented Portugal at several film festivals in Europe and Asia. He was a jury of Film Festivals in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Romania. He has conducted workshops and Masterclass in Spain (Ourense), Slovenia (Maribor), Estonia (Tallinn), Lithuania (Vilnius), Bulgaria (Sofia), Russia (Ekaterinburg) Cuba (San Antonio de los Baños) and Japan (Tokyo). Since 2010 he has been a judge of the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA). He currently holds the position of President of the Board of Directors of CESAP - Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Artistico do Porto.

Curriculum

Graduated in cinema at Escola Superior Artística do Porto (2004). He obtained a Diploma in Advanced Studies (2008) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Vigo. Master in Artistic Studies (2010) by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto and PhD by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Vigo (2015). He has published several articles in magazines dedicated to film studies, having coordinated the book: Manoel de Oliveira - Aesthetic Analysis of a Cinematographic Matrix (Editions 70, 2014). Published the book: Portuguese Cinema: Aesthetic Interceptions in the Decades of 60 to 80 of the 20th Century (Editions 70, 2016). He is a director of the Cinema and Audiovisual degree at the Superior School of Art of Porto, where he teaches curricular units: History of Portuguese Cinema, History of Cinema, Audiovisual Expression and Methodologies of Realization. He is an integrated researcher at the Arnaldo Araújo Research Center, vice president of the Association of Image Researchers in Motion and is a member of the organizing committee of the International Meeting of Cinema and Other Arts.
