Ana Isabel Carvalho is a designer with a degree from FBAUP and a MA in the same institution, on the theme of print publications and book cover design. Her work explores the intersections between design and hacker culture, the digital and the physical. Over the years she developed an exploratory practice in software/hardware archaeology and obsolete printing devices. Along with Ricardo Lafuente, she runs the Manufactura Independente design and research studio. In parallel, she works in information design, building data visualizations and interactive web interfaces as part of the J++ international data journalism agency.

Anselmo Canha. Degree in Communication Design - Graphic Art (University of Porto, 1984). Master in Image Design (University of Porto, 2008), PhD in Design (University of Porto, 2018). As a researcher, he is dedicated to the relationships between independent contexts of creation - namely non-professional and experimental - and social transformation. In his master dissertation he studied the Stop Shopping Center. His PhD thesis elected a community radio - Radio Manobras - as the center of a constellation of cases in the city of Porto. He co-coordinated “Manobras no Porto”, a project dedicated to think and act through creative action in the Historic Center of Porto. He has been a professional designer since 1984, having developed work mainly in the editorial, corporate identity and signage fields, the latter being his current professional specialization.

From 1986 to 1989 he attended the Porto Superior Art School where he completed his Bachelor in Photography and from 2002 to 2003 he graduated in Art and Communication - Photography. Attends since 2014/15 the University of Porto Lusófona PhD in Media Arts Works in photography since 1990 in the most varied areas. He has been working as a visual artist since 1991. He continually investigates many aspects of the Visual Arts, both practical and theoretical. Technical course in Graphic Design at António Arroio Visual ArtSchool (1994) and graduate in Panting, Faculdade de Belas Artes from the University of Lisbon(2001).He’s currently a PhD student in Contemporary Art. Doctoral programme at Colégiodas Artes, University of Coimbra. Collaborated regularly between 2001 and 2011with the Galleries Artfit, MCO and Sopro; made individual exhibitions recently at Senhora Presidenta(2018) and Galeria do Sol(2020) showing painting and drawing. Participated with comics and illustrations in various editing collective projects (Chili Com Carne, Opuntia Books, Oficina do Cego, Homem do Saco, Cão Celeste, Stripburger, Novo Doba) and exhibitions (“Tinta nos Nervos–Contemporary Portuguese Comics”, at Museu Berardo in 2011, curated by Pedro Vieira de Moura). Bachelor of Fine Arts / Painting by FBAUP (1981). PhD from the University of Vigo (Department of Sculpture, 2014), with the thesis "Art and Memory: Developments and derivations about the concept of memory and its contribution to artistic practice". He was a Fellow of the Foundation for Science and Technology (2009-2012). Since 1982, he has been teaching at ESAP's Higher Arts Courses, of which he was one of the founders, having held various positions. As a plastic artist, he began exhibiting in 1978: he held 5 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 150 collectives, in Portugal and abroad, being represented in some public and private collections. Between 1976 and 1981 he worked in Animation Cinema, including two films subsidized by the Portuguese Cinema Institute, produced by Cinematógrafo - collective of intervention, of which he was one of the founders. In 2015 Trindade re-started working in cinema, having produced two short films which were shown in some international film festivals.

Diogo Tudela (Porto, 1987) graduated in Sound and Image in 2009 and Master in Digital Arts in 2011, both by School of Arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where worked as a researcher at CITAR - Center for Research in Science and Technology. Inês Moreira (1977, PT) is an architect, curator and postdoctoral researcher. Currently affiliated to IHA-FCSH, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, funded by the Foundation of Science and Technology. Guest Professor at the Fine Arts Faculty, University of Porto, lecturing on Contemporary Culture and on Curatorial Studies. Jaime Reis is a Portuguese composer based in Lisbon who studied with Karlheinz Stockhausen and with Emmanuel Nunes (also PhD co-adviser), after studying Composition and Electronic Music in Aveiro University (with J.P.Oliveira). He's the artistic director of Festival DME (counting more than 60 editions) and Lisboa Incomum. His music has been presented over more than 20 countries, both instrumental and electroacoustic, having received prizes in competitions. He has worked with institutions/ensembles such as: ZKM, IRCAM, Musik Fabrik, The Acousmonium Project of Vienna, Aleph Guitar Quartet, Musiques & Recherches. He's Professor in ESART and in the Superior Music School of Lisbon (ESML), where he teaches composition and electronic music.

Jorge Cunha Pimentel graduated in Fine Arts - Painting from FBAUP, in 1989, and PhD in Arquitecturapela Universidad de Valladolid, in 2014, with the thesis Public Works of Rogério de Azevedo. The years of the SPN / SNI and the DGEMN. He has been a professor at ESAP since 1987. He was Director of the Superior Course of Design and coordinator of the degree of Plastic Arts. She has been developing research in the fields of Architecture History and Architectural Design, with the participation in two ESAP projects already completed or in the process of being completed, around the subject of Design Architecture (2014-2016), as responsible researcher; and participation in the FCT project already completed Photography, Modern Architecture and the "Porto School". Interpretations around the Teófilo Rego Archive (2013-2015), as a member of the research team.

Researcher and curator in Contemporary Art. Living between Valencia, Spain and Porto, Portugal. PhD by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He is an assistant professor at ESAP, Escola Superior Artística do Porto. He is an Integrated Researcher at the Arnaldo Araújo Research Center, in the group of Research in Art and Critical Studies. In the field of cultural production he has collaborated with different institutions such as the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Art and Architecture program of the European Capital of Culture, Guimarães 2012. Since 2004 he has been a member of several university research groups at the UPV in Valencia, and UFRGS in Porto Alegre, Brazil, for the development of international cooperation projects, based on the creation of nuclei of thought around new contemporary processes of artistic creation, as well as the investigation of new territories in production, criticism and diffusion of the plastic arts. He is the editor of the book, Infraestructuras emergentes, on the production, management and cultural diffusion. He has developed research on the relations between art, politics and society with an emphasis on spatial and performative arthritic practices. During 2017/18 was curator in residence of the Center of Contemporary Culture - Center del Carme and currently is associated curator in the Galeria Municipal do Porto.

Natural de Coimbra, viveu até aos 18 anos na Figueira da Foz. Tem Mestrado em Arquitectura pela Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (2010). Como arquitecto, trabalhou em Lisboa e Xangai (em reabilitação e planeamento urbano, respectivamente). É professor do 1º ano do curso de Banda Desenhada no Ar.Co desde 2018. Encontra-se neste momento a iniciar o Doutoramento na área de História da Tecnologia na FCT-Nova.
Começou a auto-publicar o seu trabalho em 2012, com o zine Enjoo de Invocação, escrito a meias com Astromanta. No mesmo ano publicou ainda Inner Math/Megafauna, também colaborando com Astromanta, com quem fundou, juntamente com Hetamoé e Mao, o colectivo Clube do Inferno. Publicou ainda com a Kingpin Books (Safe Place), a Polvo (Madoka Machina) e a Chili Com Carne (QCDI #3000). Actualmente, coordena a recém fundada chancela de zines Erva Daninha com a artista Joana Mosi.
Expõe individual e colectivamente desde 2012: participou na exposição Parasitas, na Mundo Fantasma, em 2012. Em 2014, esteve patente na LIGHTNING RIDING WAVES OF FIRE, na El Pep Store. Em 2015, na mesma loja, teve uma exposição individual. Voltou a expor novamente em nome próprio com Bestiário, em 2019, no espaço AHTAKI (Lisboa).

Composer of electroacoustic and instrumental music, Luís Antunes Pena was born in 1973 in Lisbon/Portugal. He is currently based in Germany. His compositions result from the intensive work on computer generated structures based on the development of his own computer tools, reflecting his interest in new forms of rhythm and noise. 2013 was released the portrait CD Terrains Vagues and 2015 the CD Caffeine from the Edition Zeitgenšssische Musik / Wergo / German Council of Music. His music is heard regularly in national and international festivals played by renowned ensembles like the mosaik ensemble, asamisimasa, nadar, hand werk or remix ensemble. Currently, he teaches at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.

Currently active as Multimedia Artist, she combines these tasks with those of a supervisor and cultural manager for her own creative projects and those of others, highlighting the implementation and general coordination of Espacio Menosuno from 2005 to 2012, a collective space with intense programming, and the management of IN-SONORA, a platform for the support and dissemination of the most emerging sound and interactive art, which has become a national and international benchmark after 10 exhibitions and various projects abroad. In 2012 she founded together with other artists the high-performance production space Taller Omnívoros located in the Vallecas district of Madrid and which currently serves as a workplace and meeting place for local and international artists.

NR graduated in Sculpture at FBAUP/School of Fine Arts, University of Porto (1999), and holds an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute (2008). In 2011 he began a PhD research in Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and completed it at FBAUP/School of Fine Arts, University of Porto. Since 1999 he has been developing his work in the field of visual arts, individually and in collaboration with other artists, in areas such as drawing, installation, sculpture, performance, sound, video and curatorial practices. He has held 17 solo exhibitions, 5 of which in collaboration with fellow artists, and participated in over 60 group shows in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, USA, Norway, UK, Russia and Germany. He was the curator of 7 exhibitions, and since 2016 he is the programmer of the Portuguese video art and moving image screening project Playlist, held in Porto, with 42 shows produced and presented so far. Together with Isabel Ribeiro and Susana Chiocca, he was responsible for the Recursos Humanos / Human Resources programme, a series of talks dedicated to the public presentation and discussion of works and creation processes by artists, architects, designers and others. His work is represented in institutional collections such as CAV - Centro de Artes Visuais and the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as in several private collections. In 2002 he was resident artist at Triangle France, Marseille, and in 2004 he was one of the nominees for the EDP Young Artists award in Portugal. Between 2006 and 2008 he was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship, and the Louise Woods Memorial scholarship. He was also awarded a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Art Research grant between 2011 and 2015. From 2000 to 2005 he collaborated with the education program of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art. He was teaching assistant in the New Genres course at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2007, and in 2011 began teaching at the BFA in Photography program, ESAP - Porto Art School, where he leads a seminar on Portuguese video art since 2017. He lives and works in Porto and is represented by Graça Brandão gallery, Lisbon.

Nuno Faleiro Rodrigues is a lecturer at ESAP where he teaches in the Ba in Photography-Visual Arts and the MA in Visual Arts. In 2009 he completed his PhD at Middlesex University, London under the guidance of Professor Peter Osborne and Professor Éric Alliez. He has taught Critical Studies at Norwich University of the Arts and Metropolitan Cardiff University, UK. Between 2007 and 2009, he presented a series of seminars in art theory at Ar.Co, Lisbon, about art and repetition in the postwar period and art and aesthetics in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. Paulo Jorge da Silva Fernandes is Multimedia Developer, Photographer and Professor of University Higher Education since 2002. He holds a BA in Photography (2001) and a BA in Multimedia Art and Communication from ESAP (2002). Attends the doctoral program in Communication Sciences, University of Minho, with research focused on interactive media and social semiotics. He has published articles in the areas of Teaching of Visual Arts, Multimedia and New Media, following international conferences, and also participated as a responsible and technical collaborator in the organization and scientific committee of scientific events such as XV AECA, CONFIA'13 / 14 / 15/16, SEGAH'14, Videogames'14. Ricardo Lafuente has a degree on Communication Design by FBAUP and an MA on Networked Media/Media Design by the Piet Zwart Institute, focusing his academic research on the intersections between digital media and type design. Degree in Art and Communication and Doctor in Media Arts was participant and fellow at the Stage Europeo degli Esordi in Lucca, Italy. He is currently a researcher in the Art and Critical Studies research group at the Arnaldo Araújo Study Center. Develops work in the scope of his research, the photographic, the ethnographic and the funerary. Experiments and works continuously with the photographic and cinematographic processes. He has been continuously presenting communications, conferences and exhibitions about his research and artistic practice. Completou a Licenciatura em Artes Plásticas na Escola Superior de Artes e Design das Caldas da Rainha
(2008), tendo feito os primeiros anos do curso na FBAUP, na especialidade de Pintura (2003-2007).
Entre 2010 e 2011 viveu em Barcelona, onde estudou Restauro e Conservação de Pintura e Papel. Aqui
começou a sua aproximação ao mundo da Encadernação, através do Restauro de livros.
Em 2014, iniciou a Pós-Graduação em Restauro e Conservação de Obras de Arte e Documentos Gráficos
no IIPC-Tarea, Universidad de San Martin, em Buenos AIres. Aqui aprendeu várias técnicas de
Encadernação na sua perspectiva histórica. Em 2015, fez um Curso de Iniciação à Encadernação
Artesanal na Iuna - Universidad Nacional de Artes de Buenos Aires.
De volta a Portugal, em Setembro de 2015, abre o seu atelier de encadernação e cria a sua própria marca
de cadernos artesanais juntamente com Enzo Coria - Cadernos Musgo. ( www.fb/cadernosmusgo.com )

Susana Barreto completed PhD course at Central Saint Martins (CSM) in 2008, after which she continued her research on the ethical implications of Global Design in a joint programme PostDoc between Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto and CSM. In 2021 Susana completed 2 FCT funded research projects, Wisdom Transfer as a Leader and Anti-Amnesia as a co-Leader. Susana's work at the Graphic Communication course in Macau paved the way to put forward a research project "the Fading Legacy of the Macanese" funded by the Grants/Asia-Europe Comparative Studies Research of which Susana was both author and project leader. Susana has supervised several MA, Phd and Postdoc studies and organized international and national conferences in Porto. For the last 3 years that Susana has been acting as the Co-Coordinator of the Design, Architecture and Urbanism panel for the FCTs PhD scholarships call. Susana's interests converge around the role of ethics in visual communication, design and crime, design culture, visual methodologies, life stories of Portuguese Design figures, Visual/history collections.
