(Soma)tic Poetry Rituals, com CAConrad
ESAP 19 de Março 2020 | 18H(Sum) tic Poetry Rituals, with CAConrad
- contemporary artistic practices laboratory -
The poetic work of CAConrad (US) reflects his beliefs about the radical potential of poetry for the construction of alternative paths to those that currently risk the sustainability of our world. Conrad has maintained a constant practice of workshops dedicated to poetry (Soma) tic - "a poetry that investigates this seemingly infinite space between the body and spirit using almost any THING around or in the body to channel the body out and / or in towards the spirit with a deliberate and sustained concentration "- and to Ecopoetics where it explores the creation and exercise of rituals that both expose emotional, intellectual and physical conditioning to crystallized archetypes and experience ways of reconnection that anticipate relationships with the wild places of the future.
For the first time in Portugal, for its residency under the XX Ateneu XXI program, CAConrad proposes a 5-day laboratory centered on on (Soma)tic Poetry Rituals:
“The rituals of poetic (soma) tic can show us how to find creative viability in everything around us. We will build rituals together and discuss how to create and maintain a creative space in our lives. When Albert Einstein said: "Imagination is more important than knowledge", he asked us to understand that bringing new ideas that we create to the world is always more important than stagnating under models of previous paradigms. ”
CA successfully used rituals of poetry (soma) tic to overcome depression after the murder of his companion, Earth. He created writing rituals using the night sky to project constellations of his own stars, another ritual to experience the impact of hearing the world's drone on the human body and many others, talking to trees, ghosts, translating Shakespeare's sonnets with crystals or dealing with the destroyed wild nature of our planet.
