Rodrigo Paglieri- Nomadic Landscape and Narrative in Contemporary Artistic Practice

Sala 3º Frente 15 de Novembro | 17h30

This Friday the artist and researcher Rodrigo Paglieri is going to deliver a seminar titled Nomadic Landscape and Narrative in Contemporary Artistic Practice

Nomadic Landscape and Narrative in the Contemporary Artistic Practice

This seminar will present Nomadic Landscape and Narrative by Rodrigo Paglieri, as a key concept in contemporary landscape studies. Based on a brief study of the main artistic practices that directly operate within urban and natural spaces, we will identify their poetic structures. We will study some theories from authors such as Anne Cauquelin, Hal Foster, Miwon Kwon and the work of some philosophers such as Peter Osborne, Michel de Certeau and Jacques Rancière in order to analyse the tendencies in contemporary landscape intervention that deal with social, political, cultural and geographic spaces. We will assess how these operate in the transformation of the contemporary concept of landscape towards a critical direction.
