A Casa de Bernarda Alba questions the role of women in a conservative and sexist society in the Franco period in Spain. This text is also a reflection on prejudice, morality and power relations in an environment of ideological oppression. An austere woman who deprives her daughters of marriage and motherhood, living under social conventions even though they mean fatalities.

From A Casa de Bernarda Alba, by Federico García Lorca
Theatrical Direction Luísa Pinto
Interpretation Beatriz Lista, Inês Fonseca, Joana Freitas, Leonor Silva, Luana Rocha, Raquel Rafael, Teresa Nabais
Special participation Inês Cardoso
Scene Photography António Alves

Also held from June 18 to 22 at ESAP’s Gallery, the Exhibition - O Arquivo do TEP. Poética e Política – TEP (Portugal). The Exhibition opens on June 18 at 4 pm.

In the context of TEP’s 65th anniversary, this exhibition runs - in a non-systematic or exhaustive but representative way - 65 years of history and archive of the Theater Culture Circle - Porto Experimental Theater. It proposes a look based on poetic and political criteria that, deliberately, does not fit into a scientific view of the archive. Documents of a different nature - letters, minutes, press articles, censorship records, unplanned projects, etc. - will reveal the cultural and social rootedness of TEP and the shared construction of a heritage belonging to the city of Porto and Portugal.
