Conference: From Cinema as a hallucination to Our Madness of João Viana
1 year, 10 months agoNext May 25, at 2:30 pm, at ESAP’s Auditurium, will take place a conference titled - From Cinema as a hallucination to Our Madness of João Viana, by José Bértolo.
After the conference, the film Our Madness will be shown and the film's director and teacher of Cinema and Audiovisual bachelor’s degree, João Viana will be present.
José Bértolo received his doctorate from the University of Lisbon in 2019, in a FCT doctoral program in partnership with KU Leuven and U. Bologna. He is currently a researcher at the Center for Comparative Studies at the Faculty of Letters of Lisbon, where he collaborates with the project RIAL - Reality and Imagination in the Arts and Literature. He is the author of the books Imagens em Fuga: Os Fantasmas de François Truffaut, Overprints: Readings of Films and Cinema Spectra: Manoel de Oliveira and João Pedro Rodrigues, and co-organizer of several volumes of essays, the most recent of which is Imitations of Life: Classic American Cinema (organized with Fernando Guerreiro and Clara Rowland).
