João Tabarra (Lisbon, 1966) lives and works in Germany and Portugal.He studied photography at Ar.co, Lisbon.He uses photography, film and installation as typologies for his artistic practice and research.His works are marked by the "cinematographic figure" andquestion the status of the image.He is regularly invited to participate in conferences, workshops, lectures and as a member of international film festival juries.Between 2016 and 2022 he was Professor of Moving Images in the Department of Media Arts at HFG-Karlsruhe University for Arts and Design, Germany.Currently, heis a visitingassistant professor at ESAP-Escola Superior Artística do Porto.
