Maneuvers in Porto - 2nd Edition_MÃOS AO LARGO project

ESAP's 1st cycle Course in Animation and Cultural Production informs about its participation in the Manobras no Porto (Maneuvers in Porto) 2nd edition, an initiative Porto 2.0 - changing city, with the project 'MÃOS AO LARGO', a partnership between CESAP/ ESAP and Porto Lazer.
The project involves a continuing ownership of the Largo S. Domingos, calling ESAP and other local actors, to a place of collective exposure and confrontation. This appropriation shall be supported by a structure - platform/sidewalk/stage - placed in Largo S. Domingos, restoring it to the parking and supporting its continued occupation with activities. This project is an extension of the project COM.TACTO (2011 edition of Porto 2.0), using the symbolism of the hand palm, as proof of identity and incitement to action.

International Conference SURVEYS ON VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE
Their significance in 20th century architectural culture

Next 17 to 19 of May, researchers from 12 countries will assist the international scientific meeting on the subject Surveys on Vernacular Architecture. Their significance in 20th century architectural culture.
The event is organized by the research project The Popular Architecture in Portugal. Critical reading, to be held in ESAP at Arnaldo Araújo Studies Centre (FCT UID 4041) 2013.
The meeting is dedicated to Pedro Vieira de Almeida (1933-2011), Director of CEAA and IR of this project.

ESAPs Visual Arts - Photography BA Course Director informs and invites the school community and other interested parties to visit the Exhibition 'Spaces of Light and Shadow', to be held within the discipline of Photography and Installation, this Course 3rd year, between May 18 and June 6.
The Exhibition will be open to the public at Marques da Silva Foundation (Marquês de Pombal Square nº 30 - Porto) from tuesday to friday between 14h30 and 17h30.

The Theatre and Cinema Department invites ESAPs studentes, teachers and other interested parties to attend the Conference/Debate "RASGOS DISTINTIVOS DEL COMPORTAMIENTO OBJETUAL EN LA OBRA DE TADEUSZ KANTOR" with Dr. José Liceranzu, from Bilbao, on May 21, at 15h, in ESAPs Auditorium.
The speaker will explain and discuss the characteristic features of objects in the use of theatrical works, as well as the actor model of the famous painter, stage designer, director and creator of happenings and performances TADEUSZ KANTOR.

9th International Film School Festival (MIFEC)

We inform ESAPs school community and other interested parties that the 9th International Film School Festival (MIFEC), promoted by the Cinema and Audiovisual BA Course, under the coordination of Dr. M. F. Costa e Silva, will be held from 22 to 26 May 2012 in ESAPs auditorium and in Youth Foundation auditorium.
This year's MIFEC has 60 films from 10 countries in competition and the Jury will award the following prizes: Grand Prize; Special Jury Prize; Best Portuguese Film, Best Foreign Film, Best Portuguese Director; Best Foreign Director; Best Documentary.
As usual, in the MIFECs framework, will also be given the Prize 'Aurelio da Paz dos Reis', this year awarded to Margarida Gil, cinema and television Director.

A Secção Autónoma de Teoria e História da ESAP informa da realização do Curso Livre 'Restauro Urbano Integrado'.
Descrição e Objectivos:
Este curso tem como objectivo – a partir da análise de temas como a reabilitação urbana; o efectivo valor dos centros históricos e do seu entendimento como conjuntos; a arquitectura de carácter vernacular; o urbanismo orgânico; a antropologia do espaço – avançar com um conjunto de metodologias inovadoras de análise e de novas estratégias de intervenção, tendo como base uma apreciação crítica global sobre os últimos trinta anos de reabilitação urbana em Portugal.
Visa contribuir para a formação complementar de todos quantos são chamados a intervir nos centros históricos ampliando e reforçando assim as estratégias de intervenção e de conservação.
Público-alvo (destinatários):
Estudantes de Arquitectura, Urbanismo e Planeamento do Território, História da Arte, Economia, Gestão do Património, Conservação e Restauro, Arquitectura Paisagista, Museologia, Turismo e Animação Cultural; e de outras áreas de algum modo ligadas à salvaguarda, gestão e valorização de centros históricos.
Investigadores, técnicos e docentes das áreas supramencionadas.
